ABOUT ORANGE & LEGENDARY NAMED WEAPONS These weapons are extremely rare but highly sought after. Certain ones can be bought from shops, but the rarest ones can only be found from killing monsters as random drops and also as random loot from Metal Chests. Level 3 metal chests are the best chests to farm as they give you the highest percentage of finding an orange or legendary named weapon. HOW TO FARM LEVEL 3 CHESTS FOR MORE ORANGE AND LEGENDARY WEAPONS: Have a Level 70 Character that has completed the game at least once Start a new game. Select that character. Select Chapter 12. Select to load your Level 70 character stats. Run from Fort Henderson directly ahead to the Helicopter Wreckage. Open the Level 3 Metal Chest. If you do not get the orange weapon you want, exit to the game's main menu via start + Y. Hit Continue. Rinse & Repeat until you get the weapon that you want. When you get the weapon, trade it to a co-op friend and have them trade it to your main character. While this trick doesn't give you guaranteed orange, legendary or gold weapons all the time, it is a legitimate MMORPG style item farming trick that is much more active and enjoyable than sitting around for 5 hours and waiting for a box to stock with an item you may not even want. With this trick, you can easily open at least one level 3 Metal Chest per minute, or 60 per hour, which in turn, greatly increases your chances of a rare item, and is much more enjoyable than simply sitting and waiting in the same spot for hours on end. This trick is much more enjoyable when friends are also doing the same trick. After all, Dead Island: Riptide is supposed to be a co-op game! Thus far, I have found an orange machete, orange brass knuckles and an orange hammer, but a friend of mine, who was doing the same trick, has text me saying he has received an orange katana and an orange staff thus far.
