Two absolute classic dirt pedals that we've overlooked to date Welcome to the show! Despite being on the Toobs for a full decade now, we have yet to have a blast through a classic MXR Distortion+ and DOD Overdrive Preamp 250. That all changes today as we’ve acquired an early ’80s Distortion+ (thanks David!) and a new 250 via the secondhand section of Guitar Guitar. Anyway, the interesting thing about these pedals is that they use basically the same circuit, but for a couple of component differences/values. They’ve both changed continuously down the years so this video is neither an exhaustive comparison of the 'right' versions, nor the last word on the subject. Consider it a primer – an exploration of a handful of vintage and new pedals to see what we discover. Enjoy the show!
