Abstract: The presentation is dedicated to anomaly detection in raw GNSS data to protect critical infrastructure from GNSS spoofing. Here’s a concise list of topics that will be spotlighted during the presentation: • Types of GNSS Interference: Differentiating between Jamming and Spoofing. • The Escalation of GNSS Spoofing Incidents Globally: Analyzing various instances and reasons behind the burgeoning cases of GNSS spoofing across the world. • GNSS spoofer example using Hack RF One and gps-sdr-sim. • Types of spoofing: coherent and non-coherent attacks. • Spoofing defense mechanisms. • Data for Analysis: Reviewing the NMEA and UBX protocols. • Coordinate Monitoring: Delving into the most straightforward and evident algorithm for spoofing detection. • Satellites' CN0 Monitoring: Evaluating CN0’s behavior under coherent and non-coherent attacks. • Residual Monitoring: Understanding what residuals are and how they behave under various attack scenarios. • DataStream Authentication. • Spectrum Monitoring: Employing spectrum analysis as a means to detect GNSS interference. • Problem of GNSS receivers hang-up due to spoofing. Inability to restore tracking of real signals. • GPSPATRON solution for GNSS anomaly detection and classification. Speaker: Since 2012, Maksim Barodzka has been navigating the realm of IT entrepreneurship with a particular focus on embedded systems and real-time monitoring with high-load capacities. His journey began with the foundation and development of a project named Unitess, a low-code platform designed to streamline measurement automation. Here, Maksim pioneered a proprietary scripting language, crafted to simplify the development of digital twins for measurement methodologies. Within this system, over 1000 drivers for various measuring equipment and more than 15000 scripts for calibration of measuring tools and certification tests were developed. Unitess has made a tangible impact in the field, being utilized in over fifty major testing centers. In 2015, Maksim rolled out the Unitess Ambient project, which was geared towards monitoring the conditions of production, storage, and transportation of medicinal products. The project saw the development of various models of thermohygrometers with high metrological characteristics and a web monitoring and notification system that complies with GDP GMP standards. To date, this system has been implemented in more than 300 organizations, showcasing its viability and effectiveness in maintaining quality assurance in the pharmaceutical realm. Fast forward to 2019, Maksim launched GPSPATRON, a project dedicated to the monitoring and classification of GNSS interferences. The system, which is now fully developed, validated, certified, and commercially available, has the capability to detect sophisticated GNSS spoofing attacks, ensuring the integrity and reliability of GNSS services in various applications.
