We left in sub-zero temperature from Salzburg Central Station in the morning and reached Innsbruck within 2 hours. The temperature at both the places was below minus 15 degrees centigrade. The scenic beauty of snow-covered countryside from the train was so beautiful, that we could not shift our eyes from the window. Our hotel Golden Krone was at a walking distance from the railway station. We left our luggage in our rooms and went for breakfast in the dining hall of the hotel. The breakfast was sumptuous and plenty of varieties. Intercity transport: Our Intercity transport was mainly train and at some places we took Flixbus. First, we thought of purchasing Eurail global pass, but cost was coming much higher than purchasing point to point rail ticket of that country and flix bus. A few words about Innsbruck: Innsbruck is the capital of Tyrol and the fifth-largest city in Austria. It is on the River Inn, at its junction with the Wipp Valley, which provides access to the Brenner Pass. Innsbruck is an internationally renowned winter sports centre; it hosted the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics as well as the 1984 and 1988 Winter Paralympics. It also hosted the first Winter Youth Olympics in 2012. The name means "bridge over the Inn". Innsbruck became the capital of all Tyrol in 1429 and in the 15th century the city became a centre of European politics and culture as Emperor Maximilian I also resided in Innsbruck in the 1490s. The city benefited from the emperor's presence as can be seen for example in the Hofkirche. The two famous mountains here are Nordkette and Patscherkofel. The journey to Hafelekar by cable car is an experience itself, which nobody can ever forget. The unique panorama of city and mountain is the real highlight here in Hafellekar. The other attractions here are Ambras Castle, St. Anne's Column, Bergisel Ski Jump, City Hall (Stadtsaal), Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), Helbling House, Imperial Palace (Hofburg), Hungerburgbahn, Leopold Fountain, Old Town (Altstadt), City Tower (Stadtturm), Triumphal Arch (Triumphpforte) etc. Another world-famous attraction is Swarovski Crystal Worlds at Wattens, abour 20 kilometres from Innsbruck.
