Medvedev and King Carlos looking at album from exhibition STORYLINE: Russian President Dmitry Medvedev welcomed the Spanish king for talks at the Kremlin on Thursday, in the first meeting between the Russian head of state and the Spanish monarch since Medvedev took office. Spain's King Juan Carlos I arrived in Moscow on Wednesday on a two-day visit. Medvedev said relations between the two countries had reached a good level, evident even in the results from the Euro 2008 football tournament currently being played out in Austria and Switzerland. "We even managed to get through to the quarter-finals of Euro 2008 together from the same group," he joked. Russia finished second behind Spain in Group D, with both teams this week securing their advancement in the championship. Later, the two leaders toured a photography exhibition showcasing the work of Russian photographers, entitled "Spain through the lens of Russian photographers" at the Manezh Exhibition hall in central Moscow.
