Time stamps and description below. 0:00 Introduction 1:07 Reason that I have both of these headlamps 2:36 Important specifications: weight, brightness and battery life across different modes, dust and water protection ratings 9:23 Usability, comfort, and durability comparison 12:48 Close up of the markings for each mode 14:47 Testing out the lights in a dark room 18:16 Final thoughts and conclusions In which I do a review and comparison of two headlamps that use CR2032 coin batteries, the Black Diamond Flare and Petzl e+LITE. The Petzl e+LITE has been on the market for a number of years and is probably the most well known CR2032 headlamp among ultralight hikers, while the Black Diamond Flare has only been around a short time. While both are not very bright and don't have the greatest battery life, they do a job and carrying extra batteries has a minimal weight penalty. Overall, the Petzl is easier to use but the Black Diamond feels more solid and durable. They may not be the best ultralight headlamp for long-distance hikers, but the low weight and compactness is perfect for emergencies, overnighters, shorter trips, and storing in your vehicle.
