I took a break and went out on #Stockholm #winter waters for a city #paddling trip with my Itiwit X100+ inflatable kayak. This video (part 1 of 2) shows the trip in late March 2023 when ice had started melting away, opening up the water - but as I discovered, still with ice sheets floating around here and there. The video also includes a safety discussion on paddling in icy conditions and in cold water. Note that, as I point out in the video, winter and cold water conditions are dangerous for paddlers and must be respected. I'm wearing a drysuit, have spare clothes in drybags and other emergency gear, have the proper experience, and keep my distance to the ice when it appears, even if the water is mostly clear.
