a compilation video of every Long Island Railroad 1997-1999 Kawasaki C3 cab car leading double decker sets in Long Island NY. These were the replacements for the Alco and EMD powerpack units that were orignally used on Standard 2900 series P72 coaches before being retired by March of 2000. Like the C3 cab cars, the Alco Fa-1s and EMD F units always faced westbound and almost never eastbound. When these unique bi-levels were delivered and brought into service in the late 1990s, they originally had Leslie RS2M horns, and no bells. The Graham White bells were added onto the cab cars between 2012 and 2014 because of FRA mandates, overtime, the RS2M horns were gradually replaced by Nathan K13B/K13A horns in the late 2000s and early 2010s cab car after cab car. The last C3 Leslie RS2M was replaced around 2013-14 with a Nathan Airchime K13B horn. These cab cars also had hi-lo modulated horns but those were phased out and changed to on-off by the end of the 2010s except for 5021. The cab cars also have different logo variations over the years, some had Long Island Rail Road on the left side and a large MTA logo on the right side of the front as 5002 and 5005 have, and 5012's front logo has no yellow backgeound behind it. 5014 also had no MTA logo on the front and Long Island Rail Road on the left side of the front until 2023-24 and was the only cab car with no MTA logo on the front. #passengertrain #railroadcrossing #trainstation
