A chandelle is a type of clay target used in sporting clays that follows an arcing trajectory and changes speed while in flight. Chandelles can be challenging to shoot because of their visually dynamic movement, speed change, and transition. A Chandelle target presentation can be thrown with either a Standard (108mm) target, International Target (110mm), Midi, 70mm, Battue, or even a Rabbit Target thrown as a “Rabbue”. We talk about how Chandelles are crossers, not droppers, meaning they move to the right or left for entire presentation distance they travel.
