Viennese waltzes are played with lilt, not in strict 3-4 time. Soloists, conductors and orchestras feel and create the lilt 'in the moment', but they do it different ways. Suppose we try listening and moving to a range of lilts and feel for the ones that give the dance most energy, verve, gaity? Will you prefer the same as me? Will all the waltzes in The Blue Danube lilt the same way?
