Tinnitus is a real and serious illness. Although not life threatening, tinnitus is commonly caused by a type of hearing loss, most notably sensorneurinal hearing loss. The symptoms of tinnitus, which is a phantom ringing noise in either one ear or both. There is no cure for tinnitus, nor for the hearing loss that causes it, although early intervention may help with recovery. This roleplay series does not intend to represent a literal accurate depiction of tinnitus, nor does it intend to mock or make fun of anyone who suffers from it. This roleplay series is a theatrical and symbolic representation of my own personal experience with tinnitus caused by sensorneurinal hearing loss, which I have first suffered from 2 years ago from a devastating bronchitis infection, to which my hearing loss worsened a year later when I first got infected with covid-19. If you or someone you know is experiencing prolonged ringing noises in one or both ears that is not caused by an outside source, please see an ENT asap.
