Lose it, and you’re trapped in a human body, married off to someone who thinks love means hiding your soul in a barn. You raise half-selkie children with saltwater in their blood and lies in their lullabies, all while secretly tearing apart floorboards searching for your escape. When you finally find your skin, the ocean calls like a mother, but your babies are staring at you with your own eyes, and suddenly freedom hurts worse than captivity ever did. Still, you run.
