Death in Philosophy from West to East

In the Phaedo dialogue, Socrates states that a philosopher who shows fearlessness in the face of death should desire death. Socrates is not only fearless but also willing in the face of death. As a matter of fact, death is nothing but the separation of soul and body. For this reason, in the Apology, Socrates states that those who truly engage in philosophy are preparing to die. The philosophy that has been going on since Plato sees life as weak in the face of death but points out that the ultimate goal of life is to end in death. This situation becomes clearly visible in Heidegger's philosophy.
