In this video we visit Glenelg, a lovely beachside suburb in Adelaide's south-west. It's a popular area in Adelaide, full of cafe's, restaurants, hotels and other attractions by the beach; pretty much Adelaide's version of St Kilda. It's also the terminus of the Glenelg tram line, which until recently was Adelaide's only tram line, as well as Adelaide's only electrified railway. The terminus is at Moseley Square, with another stop along Jetty Road. Travel between Moseley Square and Brighton Road (just outside Glenelg) is free. The Glenelg tram line is operated by two types of tram. The first is the Bombardier Flexity Classic, which wears a yellow livery and were introduced from 2006 when the Glenelg tram line was modernised. The fleet is supplemented by the Alstom Citadis 302 which were originally intended for Madrid's light rail network, but were sold to Adelaide after becoming surplus requirements. As a result these trams still wear their red and blue Madrid livery, abit with Adelaide Metro logos on it. We also see a couple of buses around.
