Margate is a special town, with a distinct atmosphere. Sitting on the North Kent coast, known as “the Knuckle of England”, this seaside town has attracted tourists and artists for nearly 300 years with its incredible natural beauty. With one of the best beaches in the region, Margate Main Sands provides a fantastic place to relax and chill out when the weather is good. Inspired by its stunning skyline and sunsets, JWM Turner would come here to paint and eventually moved here from London. More recently Tracey Emin has made the town well known, as she references it in many of her art works. In 2010 the magnificent Turner Contemporary gallery was built, and this started a transformation, attracting many creative people to come to the town to work. This has created a new scene of small independent art galleries for local and non-local artist to exhibit their work. It was very windy on this day and therefore the audio quality was not the best, as it sometime interfered with the microphone.
