Tigers, tigers, tigers! What more needs to be said? India is a wonderful country which offers an experience quite unlike any other, and when you add tigers, leopards and sloth bears in, it makes for an unforgettable safari! This video is a quick wrap up from our latest safari, which will give you a good idea of what you can expect if you join us on safari in India! Here is the audio in text: I always enjoy heading back to India, and there are few experiences quite like it. The Tiger Reserve is exquisite, and boasts many wonderful natural features, and hides some ancient ruins, thousands of years old. In amongst all the beauty and history, tigers roam freely, protected from the outside world. These big cats know they are the top predator, and walk around with great confidence, much to the delight of our cameras and the fear of the chital, or spotted deer that have to always keep a lookout. Finding a tiger can be tricky, but when you do, be prepared to fill your camera’s memory cards! They are huge, beautiful and deadly - a wonderful combination. Also hiding in the jungles, are leopards and sloth bears. The sloth bears are equally relaxed and are actually able to convince a tiger to move on, so they quite happily go about their day. The leopards on the other hand, need to be as vigilant as the prey, because they stand no chance against the might of a tiger. We had great luck on this safari, and saw 9 different tigers, 1 leopard, and 1 sloth bear. We got to see some some feeding behaviour, a mother with cubs and even a rather comical attempt by a young tiger trying to catch a deer in the middle of the lake. India has over 1000 bird species, and this Tiger Reserve is home to about 350 of those, so there is always something to see and photograph. We found just over 100 bird species on this safari, and many were kind enough to pose for us. Between safaris, we took a trip up to the ancient fort which overlooks the reserve. The views are breathtaking and you get to see the ever playful langur monkeys up close. Service and hospitality in India is hard to beat, as your personal butler takes care of your every need. The food is magnificent, as is enjoying a cold drink after a great day on safari.
