In February 1990, just weeks after the bloody overthrow of Romania's communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu - a drama watched by TV audiences around the world during Christmas '89 - British bands Jesus Jones, Crazyhead and Skin Games, along with Radio 1 DJ Annie Nightingale, travelled to the still dazed East European country to hook up with local bands Holograf and Compact B for a series of extraordinary, euphoric concerts in Timișoara (19 Feb), Bucharest (21, 22 Feb) and Brașov (23 Feb), compered by Nightingale and local DJ Andrei Partos. A highlight of Crazyhead's set on the tour was a recent addition to their reportoire, 'Everything's Alright', which seemed to capture the bruised but proud and optimistic mood in Romania in that precise post-revolution moment. On the last night, in Transylvanian town Brașov, Crazyhead played like their lives depended on it, fuelled by raw emotion, and blasted out a stunning version of their powerful new song. "You've been brilliant," singer Anderson told the audience afterwards, "...and so have we! So everybody's happy!"
