We Found A Secret Waterfall in McKee Kentucky | Flat Lick Falls Recreational Area

Flat Lick Falls Recreational Area is our favorite hike in Kentucky and it’s located just 80 minutes from Lexington in Jackson County. The best thing about this park is that not too many people other than the locals know about it, so every time we go it’s never crowded. If you just want to see the waterfall, it’s a quick and easy 3 minute hike from the parking lot. If you want to hike down to the swimming hole at the bottom of the falls, it’s a relatively easy 15 minute hike with a couple moderately steep areas. That said, with the help of parents, this trail is good for the whole family. On this hike you’ll discover caves, multiple waterfalls, rock formations, a crystal clear creek and the possible beaver. We personally think this trail is prettier than anything we’ve seen in Red River Gorge.
