In this video I want to talk about some of the reasons why I chose a Prius as my vehicle of choice to car camp my way around Australia. I'll go into what I believe makes the Prius the ideal choice for solo car camping and walk you through my set up and some of modifications I did to my 2013 Prius before I left on this trip to make it a bit more fit for purpose. So if you are considering going on a solo car camping trip and wondering whether a Prius is the right car for you, I hope this video helps. #priuscamping #stealthcarcamping I wanted to preface this by describing how I'm planning to travel for the rest of my trip around Australia because everyone's different and your situation may not be the same as mine. I'm currently working two days a week remotely and for those two days I need a solid wifi connection and a quiet room to work in the whole day. So I typically spend 4 nights a week sleeping in the car and the rest of the time I'll be in hostels or hotels. I also typically stay relatively close to grocery stores or restaurants when I'm travelling and I buy pre-made meals or salads that I can store in the fridge for a day or two. I did previously have a rice cooker and used to make a lot of meals out of the back of the car but I found it to be a lot of time and effort and I prefer paying a few extra bucks to get pre-made meals now. I also utilise toilets at cafes or servos, and typically shower at snap fitness. I've seen some Prius set ups that have showers, toilets, and big kitchens but I really didn't need all that for my particular situation. I also wanted to keep the car as "unmodified" as possible so I could sell it again without too much trouble if I wanted to.
