Colorado Sugar Beet Harvest - 2022

Harvesting Suage Beets in northeast Colorado. In this video I am out in the field with a family farm from Colorado as they harvest their 2022 sugar beet crop. In this video I show filmed the entire process and first up is a John Deere 8R 250 tractor pulling an Amity 3550 Defoliator that mows and shreds the tops off of the sugar beets. Then they come along with their John Deere 8RX 310 tractor pulling an Amity 2500 harvester. this harvester digs the beets up out of the ground and side loads them into a semi truck. Also in the video you will see a John Deere 8410 tractor with a 3 point hitch mounted disk to smooth out the pivot irrigation tracks and help push trucks out of the field. Also I ride along with one of the truck drivers as they haul a load of beets down to the town of Sterling Colorado where they will be stored on a pile then later processed.
