HISTORICAL FICTION Book Recommendations NOT Dealing With War: Historical fiction is my favorite genre; however, historical fiction can also be quite heavy and it's not something I'd recommend reading all day every day. That being said, I've come up with a list of historical fiction books that don't deal with war, which means they'll be a little more on the lighthearted side, or perhaps just a little easier to read. This isn't to say there aren't brutal things that happen in these books, but they do stay away from some of the harder themes you tend to find in historical fiction. I hope you enjoy. ABOUT THIS CHANNEL: I'm just a working mom who likes to read. I especially like to read historical fiction, classics, realistic science fiction, narrative nonfiction, and literary fiction. Sometimes I'll sprinkle in a romance book here or there if I need a little palate-cleanser. I love to offer book recommendations, especially historical fiction book recommendations, so please follow along if you'd like to learn which historical fiction books you should or should not pick up. Now that I've finished with my year-long project to read a hundred books in a year, I've decided to change my focus to catching up on some classics that I never got around to during high school and college. Some of the classics I hope to read in 2025 are "East of Eden," "Don Quixote" and "Wuthering Heights." Some of my favorite books of all time include "The Pillars of the Earth," "Birdsong," "Into Thin Air," "Into the Wild," "Kindred," and "The Lord of the Rings." Since "The Lord of the Rings" is probably the only fantasy book I've ever liked, please let me know if you have any book recommendations for readers who don't like fantasy. I think I must just be reading the wrong types of books.
