How do we find out who we really are? In our lives, we play many different roles: Friend, partner, parent, child, teacher and student, to name only a few. So where do these roles end and our true selves begin? Paradoxically, by taking on one more role: That of a fictional character in a tabletop role-playing game, like Dungeons&Dragons. As we delve into fantastical and fictional worlds free from societal norms and expectations, there is only one thing left to guide us: Our core values and beliefs. Even if we might not know them yet ourselves. Irmi Schäffl and Jasmin Justen are storytellers, scientists and the founders of twelve or higher, where they specialise on team development and bringing people together through tabletop role-playing games. https://www.twelve-or-higher.de/wir Irmi Schäffl and Jasmin Justen are storytellers, scientists and the founders of twelve or higher, where they specialise on team development and bringing people together through tabletop role-playing games. https://www.twelve-or-higher.de/wir This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
