Ltd. ] Constipation develops when stool becomes hard and difficult to pass. Reasons include a blockage and a low fiber diet. You might feel cramping or bloating in your intestines that pushes upward on your stomach. As a result, you could feel stomach discomfort while the area of constipation is really in your intestines. A person who poops fewer than 3 times per week may have constipation. Sometimes, constipation results from a blockage in the large intestine. In this case, a person will need urgent medical attention. At other times, it may simply be due to a lack of fiber or water.
