Bad Day For Firewood...Tour Of The Woodlot

What a heartbreaking sight. This stately, American Elm stood proud on our land long before we moved here. It was a gorgeous tree and it's a shame to see it broken on the ground. Last night we had a BIG line of storms come through tearing down the Elm. We had been without power for a day and a half so we cancelled production and our deliveries for the day. I would like to make some boards from the trunk but I'm not sure what would be doable. If you have any experience with this, any ideas for making a family heirloom please leave me a comment.
