Hey everyone, welcome to NIGHT 12 of the COLD AS CHRISTMAS: LIVE FROM AUSTRALIA Discord tour! This is my second show on the GREGSYNTHWIZARD Discord server. Taking place one day after my AMAZING performance the previous night, this show is on par with it. While my voice starts out somewhat rough, it warms up by “I Need You To Turn To,” becoming just as powerful than the previous night. Like the previous night, “Pinball Wizard” features in this show. Now, for the song breakdown! “Bennie and the Jets” features Rio 1995 phrasing on “Candy and Ronnie have you seen them yet” in the first chorus and two falsetto “magazine”s in the first and third choruses, same as the previous night. “Cold As Christmas” is a generally good version overall, but has several piano flubs. “Philadelphia Freedom” is vocally rougher than the previous night. In the second chorus, I sing “cause I live and breathe this Philadelphia Freedom” in 1997/1998 phrasing. I hit a high “shine the light” in the final chorus. “Border Song” is a solid version overall, despite my voice being somewhat rough. “I Need You To Turn To” is vocally excellent, but has a few piano flubs in the first verse and chorus. “Levon” featues a high “family plan” in the final chorus and three C5 “HE shall be Levon” falsettos towards the end of the song. “I Think I’m Gonna Kill Myself” features a slightly slower tempo than usual in the first verse and chorus. “Gonk” replaces “Brigitte Bardot” in the second verse. The piano solo has several piano flubs. “Sixty Years On” demonstrates good vocal control, with several vocal licks in the second verse and powerful vocals in the third verse. “Sacrifice” is somewhat rough on the higher notes, but has generally clean verses and powerful choruses. I add an embellishment onto “into separate worlds” in the final chorus. “Words” features several embellishments and longer “single word I SAY”s than usual. “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” features generally clean, powerful vocals, but is slightly rougher on the higher notes. “Teacher I Need You” is surprisingly stronger than the previous night, with clean vocals and strong piano work. I nearly nail the high “come out and say teacher I” belt in the final chorus, which I previously attempted in Nights 5 and 9. “Tiny Dancer” is a strong version, with powerful vocals and more embellishments than usual. However, I make several piano flubs in the final verse. “Love Lies Bleeding” is a powerful version, with clean vocals and strong chorus A4s. “Honky Cat” is superior to that of the previous night, featuring clean, powerful vocals and dynamic piano work. “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters” is an excellent version, with clean, powerful vocals all around. “Elton’s Song” starts off slightly rocky, but I quickly get into the swing of things, delivering a strong performance overall. However, I make several piano and lyric flubs. “Another Day in Paradise” is vocally excellent, featuring powerful belts in the choruses and great vocal control all around. “Empty Garden” features clean, powerful vocals, and the improv section after the main vocal section features several unique phrasings. “Believe” features clean, powerful vocals and several embellishments. “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” is an excellent version, with clean, powerful vocals. “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me” is superior to that of the previous night, with cleaner vocals and more embellishments. Like the previous night, I dodge the high notes on “see the way I feel.” I also belt “to help them heal” in original phrasing. “I’m Still Standing” is a generally good version, but my voice is somewhat strained on the higher notes. I sing the final chorus in San Jose 2014 belt phrasing. “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting” is slightly more conservative than that of the previous night, and features both unique vocal phrasing and a falsetto “diesel train” in the second chorus. “Pinball Wizard” is superior to that of the previous night, with less piano and lyric flubs, and more powerful vocals. “Your Song” features an embellishment on “it’s for people like you that.” Finally, “Candle in the Wind” features several unique vocal phrasings in the final verse and chorus, bringing this show to a satisfying close. 0:00 - Bennie and the Jets 7:25 - Cold As Christmas 12:25 - Philadelphia Freedom 18:52 - Border Song 22:17 - I Need You To Turn To 25:12 - Levon 32:13 - I Think I'm Gonna Kill Myself 35:29 - Sixty Years On 39:27 - Sacrifice 44:25 - Words 47:45 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 51:01 - Teacher I Need You 55:16 - Tiny Dancer 1:01:47 - Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding 1:11:53 - Honky Cat 1:17:19 - Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters 1:22:08 - Elton's Song 1:25:13 - Another Day in Paradise 1:29:46 - Empty Garden 1:36:13 - Believe 1:40:55 - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word 1:44:36 - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me 1:50:04 - I'm Still Standing 1:54:13 - Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting/Pinball Wizard 2:02:12 - Your Song 2:06:18 - Candle in the Wind
