Teclast X5 Pro Review - $500 Surface Pro 4 Clone

There are quite a few tablets with pens coming out of China that are sold by online importers. Teclast makes higher end products than the Cube i7 line in terms of pricing and looks, but are you getting more in terms of features and performance? We review the X5 Pro, a 12.2” Windows 10 tablet that’s a near exact clone of Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4. Of course there are differences, including that the X5 Pro’s much heavier weight and it has more ports. The tablet has a 1920 x 1200 IPS touch screen that supports the optional $16 pen and the $54 Type Cover clone that attaches via magnets and a pogo pin connector. The X5 Pro has a 1 GHz Intel Core m3-7Y30 dual core, 5 watt CPU, 8GB DDR3LP RAM and a 256 gig SSD. Intel 3165AC WiFi with Bluetooth, a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front camera are standard. It has a USB-C port, USB 3.0 port, micro USB, micro HDMI, 3.5mm audio and a microSD card slot. Note that Teclast’s support is China-only and their download section is challenging to navigate (mostly in Chinese with a little English), but the tablet runs vanilla Windows 10 with no proprietary drivers so there are no specialized drivers to hunt down.
