Shannon Miller’s versatility as a gymnast was unmatched in the 1990s. She was a member of the 1996 Olympic team that later became known as the “Magnificent Seven” — the first U.S. Olympic gymnastics team to win gold. The team gold was Miller’s seventh medal, solidifying her as the most decorated American female gymnast. "I often remind myself of the struggles," Miller said. "The falls and the failures and the moments I wanted to give up because it's in the struggle and it's in those challenges that we really learn the most." In 2011, Miller was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and used her training and remembering that she was part of a team to help get her through her chemotherapy and recovery. Miler has been cancer free for 10 years.
