🙂 Hiya! After more than a decade of mountain biking, I decided it was time to create my dream bike… so that’s why I chose Atherton Bikes! I selected the 2024 AM.170x 🦄 as the foundation for my build. 📺 Episode 02 includes a shock swap/upgrade + decal change, converting my 27.5” fork to a 29er, and setting up the wheels and tires for tubeless + decal change. This multi-part film documents the entire assembly process in my garage, without any professional mechanic or outside help—just the tools I’ve collected and the skills I’ve honed over the years. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to leave them below. I appreciate you taking the time to watch my film. Thank you 🙂 📫 CONTACT 🎥 YouTube: @ProjectRaineOutside 🌎 Internet: outside.projectraine.com 0:00 Episode 01 Recap 0:44 Part 04: Shock (Updated model) 1:45 Part 05: Conversion (Changing a fork for 29" use) 5:07 Part 06: Roll (Full wheel and tire tubeless setup) 10:00 To be continued 🎬 EPISODE 02 VIDEO NOTES My bike originally shipped with a Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate A2 by mistake. I brought this to the attention of Atherton Bikes and they immediately sent over a new 2024 B1 model along with packaging so I could send back the A2 at no cost on my part - now that's what I call customer service! As for the fork, I had this master plan from the start to move the larger 38mm ZEB fork to my eMTB, and swap over the eMTB's 35mm Lyrik Ultimate to the AM.170x - because it just made more sense. If you watched my first upload (Meta Power SX Mullet Conversion) that pretty much shows where the ZEB went. It was still mega hot in the garage, and I ended up spending triple the time to edit this episode when I didn’t have to: During test viewing the music quality was pretty bad, and I thought it was the music files. I ended up changing 2 background songs and re-editing 2 of the sections. Then I discovered that Final Cut Pro was automatically analyzing and changing the EQ of imported music files - thus when I’d listen on my computer they sounded fine, but when I output the video it sounded bad! By this time I already re-cut the video footage to match the new songs, so I kept them as they are now. 🫡 RAINE I am not sponsored, nor am I a professional mountain biker or bike mechanic. I personally purchased all the equipment and tools used in this video. This video was entirely self-filmed and self-edited. All footage in this episode was captured using an Apple iPhone 15 Pro and edited with Final Cut Pro on a 6-year-old Hackintosh.
