I passed through the town of Espalion, where a local festival was underway — though the rain kept the crowds away, giving the streets a quiet, reflective feel. Moments like this are part of the Camino experience: unexpected beauty mixed with solitude, weather, and perseverance. After hours of wet trails and quiet roads, the first sight of Estaing was unforgettable. The village, with its historic bridge and château overlooking the Lot River, felt like a reward at the end of a long and challenging day.
