Tragic story of a player who was hailed as the United's future star. Adrian Doherty is the name nobody mentions when they talk of ''Class of 92''. Those who have watched him play, say he was better winger than Ryan Giggs. Unfortunately, few days before he was supposed to make his debut, he injured knee. His football career was over before it even started. But the very tragic moment happened in April 2000. Adrian decided to move to Amsterdam to work for a furniture company. In his first week he slipped into the canal, on the way to catch an early-morning train. He was in a coma for a month, and died on 9 June. The next day would have been his 27th birthday. Adrian Doherty was a Northern Irish, shy and even described by some as eccentric. Music was his passion in addition to football. There's little footage of him playing, so this is how we remember United's lost star. Ryan Giggs, Brendan Rodgers, Adrian's family and others have spoken up about him. Rest in peace, Adrian.
