In this video, I showcase a unique modification on my 1955 Chevy truck build: converting the classic gas cap on the cab corner into a charging port for an onboard battery charger. Most builders relocate the gas tank to the rear under the bed and fill the original gas cap hole, but I wanted to keep the vintage look of the original Chevy gas cap while upgrading it for modern convenience. I installed a retro Shelby Cobra hinged gas cap and turned it into a practical charging port solution. This innovative modification not only preserves the classic 1955 Chevy truck design but also adds modern functionality for easier battery charging.
