True Adventures return with new single Breaking Up The Fight, released through Roundtable Records. Production by David Pye (Kate Tempest), string arrangements by Alexander Carson (Wooden Arms) and additional arrangement and production from Will Bloomfield (OUTLYA). Ringing electric guitars and triumphant drums provide the backdrop for a series of imagined vignettes telling tales of ageing parents, anxious lovers and redemption in the face of hopelessness. “Songwriting is my way of trying to make sense of what’s around me. I often only realise what a song is about until I’ve sung it a thousand times, or someone asks me about it. The best thing is hearing from someone that your song got to them in some way, often with a different meaning than the one you imagined.” Like all True Adventures singles, the track is accompanied by a unique and visually arresting music video. Self-shot and edited, the video features a single shot time lapse of Sam performing the song in an empty ferry port in the Canary Islands. "I was actually on a family holiday on La Palma this year and managed to sneak off with my camera, I came across this incredible ferry port, the brutalist architecture was just stunning. There's a huge sea wall that makes you feel like you're in the belly of a whale. The whole take was around twenty minutes long, it was extremely hot and I got a few strange looks from the locals. It's the first video I've made on my own so I'm pretty proud of it!" Breaking Up The Fight is available through all digital outlets from Friday 1st May.
