Everyone saw that Mass Effect teaser and immediately went: “Earth. Shepard. Helmet. Liara.” And look… I get it. That’s the obvious read. But the more I rewatched it (and the more I remembered what the Leviathan DLC actually revealed), the less this feels like a cute “where’s Shepard?” setup… and more like a horror story the galaxy forgot it started. Because if the Reapers are gone or even just not the main threat anymore then the one thing that forced the Leviathans to stay buried is gone too. And that’s the part nobody talks about. The Leviathans didn’t disappear. They hid. They waited. And BioWare’s teases keep pointing at an era that’s centuries after ME3… which is more than enough time for something ancient to wake up and start testing the waters again. So yeah, this is my theory: that snow planet isn’t Earth… it’s a doorstep. And Mass Effect 5 might not be about finding Shepard at all.
