STREAM ► https://orcd.co/mamavuka With a rich history producing iconic hits for South African artists such as Mzwakhe Mbuli & Brenda Fassie, legendary producer and musician Chico Twala applies his Midas touch to rising Afro-Pop artist Bhungane to sterling results. “Mama Vuka” reflects a rich variety of contemporary African music styles with purveying tones leaning into local house and afro-pop. ABOUT CHICO TWALA: Twala's first triple platinum release was in 1987 with a record that included the smash track "We Miss You Manelo", a reference to Nelson Mandela who was still a prisoner on Robben Island at the time. The song "Too Late for Mama", produced by Twala and sung by Brenda Fassie, also achieved platinum status. Chico collaborated with poet Mzwakhe Mbuli on the 1990 hit song "Papa Stop The War" also composing songs for, and producing the album, "Memeza" (a comeback by the late South African icon, Brenda Fassie). Twala's soul ballad "Peace Song", was recorded by a South African cast in 1992, just before the nation's first democratic election. Some of Chico's compositions feature in Disney's smash release Lion King II. Twala's compositions feature in Walt Disney's Lion King II. Twala is also the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement South African Music Award (SAMA Award) and a Metro FM Music Award. In 2016 Twala's "Modjadji" was also one of the official soundtracks of the successful British comedy "Grimsby".
