The methotrexate-associated lymphoproliferative disease is a non-malignant rapid division or proliferation of lymphocytes (white blood cells) producing tissues or organs in patients taking methotrexate. Methotrexate is a medicine used to treat certain types of leukocyte cancers, cancers of the skin, lungs, head, neck, and uterus. Methotrexate is also used to relieve the symptoms of joints pain and swelling in Rheumatoid arthritis. The most commonly affected sites are lymph nodes, tonsils, thymus, spleen, and bone marrow.
