It is believed to be the place where Lord Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana spent a significant portion of their exile. Chitrakoot is known for its spiritual significance and natural beauty. Janki Kund Chitrakoot: Janki Kund is a holy pond in Chitrakoot, associated with Goddess Sita (also known as Janki). According to legend, it is said that Sita used to bathe in this pond during her stay in Chitrakoot. The kund is a place of devotion and tranquility. Sphatik Shila Chitrakoot: Sphatik Shila is a revered spot in Chitrakoot, believed to be where Lord Rama and Sita would sit and meditate. It's a large rock formation with impressions said to be left by their divine presence, attracting pilgrims seeking blessings and solace. Sphatik Shila has footprints for Lord Ram. Sati Anusuiya Ashram Chitrakoot: The Sati Anusuiya Ashram is dedicated to the sage Anusuiya, known for her chastity and devotion. According to Hindu mythology, she played a role in a divine event involving the holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh (Shiva). The ashram is a spiritual destination promoting virtues and humility. Gupt Godavari, located in Chitrakoot, is a significant cave complex that holds religious importance in Hindu mythology. It is believed to be the hidden source of the Godavari River. Inside the caves, there are naturally formed rock formations and two underground streams that are considered sacred. Mandakini Aarti Ramghat Chitrakoot: Mandakini Aarti is a ritual of worship performed at Ramghat in Chitrakoot. It involves lighting lamps and offering prayers to the Mandakini River, which holds immense spiritual significance in the region. The aarti is a serene and devotional experience for visitors. Bharat Koop Chitrakoot: Bharat Koop is a well-like structure in Chitrakoot associated with Lord Bharata, Lord Rama's younger brother. It is believed that Bharata stored holy water from various sacred places in this well to symbolize his devotion to Lord Rama during his absence.
