Die Bekanntmachung dieser Idee lässt immer mehr Surfbegeisterte aufhorchen und führt zur Gründung des Vereins Blackforestwave. Über viele Jahre hinweg treiben die ehrenamtlichen Vereinsmitglieder das Vorhaben einer eigenen Welle voran. Neben der Forschung werden auch die Entwicklung und der Bau der Anlage in kompletter Eigeninitiative und ohne staatliche finanzielle Unterstützung übernommen. Nach sieben arbeitsreichen Jahren kann das Ziel einer unkommerziellen und ökologischen Surfwelle in der Stadt Pforzheim endlich umgesetzt werden. Der Film zeigt die enormen Herausforderungen und macht deutlich, dass eine Flusswelle mit motivierten Menschen und ganz viel ehrenamtlichem Engagement umzusetzen ist.
