7 Shapes Of The Major Scale - Part 1

Hello and welcome to the stocksbridge guitar tech channel. In today's guitar lesson I'm looking at the 7 shapes of the Major scale. In the Major scale there are 7 notes, meaning that there are also 7 scale 'shapes', (just like the pentatonic scale has 5 notes and therefore 5 scale shapes). After you have learned the 5 pentatonic shapes, you should learn all 7 shapes of the major scale. I'm using the key of C Major, but once learned you can apply these shapes in all keys. To keep things short I've split this guitar lesson into 4 videos. In this lesson, (Part 1), I show you the first 3 scale shapes of the Major scale. Part 2 will look at shapes 4 & 5. Part 3 will look at shapes 6 & 7. Part 4, (the last one), will focus on chords that you can play over using these 7 shapes of the Major scale.
