[Simple] How to fold a super-locked well-flying octagonal flicker. This 2020 Octagonal Flicker resembles my other Octagonal Flicker that I taught here: • Octagonal Frisbee Flicker But this new one is seamless on one side, is a little easier to fold and the flaps lock together more tightly. It can be thrown as an octagon frisbee or flicked as a flicker as I show in the tutorial, but if you're using 6-inch kami paper, I think it flies better as a flicker. If you flick it up at the perfect angle it will boomerang back to you. I designed this new Octagonal Flicker in response to an origami challenge that Paul Jackson posted on Facebook. The challenge was to try to design an octagon that was easy for beginners to fold and that would lock well so that it could lay flat and be used as a tile in a tessellation, like a piece of a puzzle. I didn't finish this tutorial in time to show him and he ended up going with an elevated octagon tile instead of a flat one for his project. Here's my YouTube video tutorial for a really well-flying diy frisbee: • Origami Frisbee #SuperOctagonFlicker #SeamlessTopFlicker #JeremyShaferOrigami This easy origami octogon model could also be a flying saucer, flying plate, flying coin or flying note, cd, dvd, or just about anything else that's round and flat! On a side not, it amazes me all the ways that people can misspell the word origami: oragami, origame, oregami, orogami, orugami, origgami Have you seen it misspelled in other ways? Oh ya, and even I sometimes misspell the word octagon as octogon because, after all, its animal cousin is spelled octopus not octapus! An Octogan would seem like a nice creature too... perhaps an octagonal headed octopus! It's a bird! It's a Plane! It's a Planar Octagonal Flicker!
