Video recorded 9/1/2026 Here are the lifts part of lift bank F in the Science Museum, London. They were first built by Pickerings and have lovely chimes. They were eventually upgraded with new buttons and voice lines. Before the lifts were upgraded, the only announcements heard in these lifts were the "Lift approaching (floor number)" messages. Lift information: Brand: Pickerings Year built / upgraded: 1998 / 2012 Capacity: 2,000 kg / 26 persons Serial numbers: Left lift: 98/1228.L2 / 51-13 Right lift: 98/1228.L1 / 51-12 Floors served: Left lift: 6 (B, G, 1, 2, 2M, 3) Right lift: 6 (B, *BM*, G, 1, 2, 3) *Only the right lift serves the mezzanine between the Basement and Ground floors but a key is required to go there. Both lifts used to serve the Basement Mezzanine but since they were upgraded, the left lift no longer stops there.
