June 22nd, 2025 - 4th Annual Charity Ballet Gala - Grâce à Vous Not too late to get your tickets to support our little dancers!! https://www.placedesarts.com/en/event... In the summer of 2025, 200 little dancers from the school will be performing on stage to share their passion. The oldest among the students is 17 years old while the youngest is only 3 years old. Part I: The adventure of youth Featuring 17 short programs, you will witness the path of budding ballet dancers, from tiptoeing to Grand Jeté, from balancing to Pirouette. The program includes variations of classical ballet repertoire, character dance, Chinese classical dance, contemporary dance and original neoclassical creations. This gala has also attracted the participation of professional artists. The CY School of Ballet is delighted to have their honors students who are currently on the path of becoming professional dancers to be back on the stage with the new generation. Part II: Act II of ballet “Paquita” An energized excerpt from ballet Paquita, originally choreographed in 1846 by Joseph Mazilier for the Paris Opera Ballet. ‘The father of classical ballet’ Marius Petipa first staged it for the Imperial Ballet in St. Petersburg in 1847. Later, in 1881, Marius Petipa created a revival of this ballet, adding new pieces composed by Ludwig Minkus and it became one of his monumental work. 60 students will bring to stage the classic excerpts from the second act of the Paquita, including Mazurka des enfants, Paquita pas de trois, the Paquita grand pas classique. A performance incorporating gypsy and Spanish styles of dance with enthusiasm and vigor. With this occasion, we would like to support all children to reach their full potential, to discover their passion and be fearless about their future. We will donate 50% of the ticket sales to Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation. We hope that in the future, we will have more opportunities to help children who are interested in dancing, invite them to watch performances, visit our school, participate in our activities, feel the power and experience the healing of dance.
