Aprilia Tuareg 660 fork repair and upgrade; shim stack, new springs, base valve and seals.

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 has one flaw that has not been addressed in any of the models and that is the shim stack is assembled incorrectly. This problem leads to the shims cracking and the overall function of the forks degrading. There are two ways to fix this. The forks can be rebuilt and the shim stack assembled properly or a new fork cartridge can be installed. After extensive research, and the desire to keep the cost of this repair and upgrade limited I opted to send my forks to Evo Industries for a rebuild. The rebuild included new shims, springs with a rate appropriate for my weight, replacement of the seals and a new base valve. I will cover how to get this work done and the results.
