100M women globally suffer from pelvic floor issues which affect their quality of life. Among these issues are urinary incontinence, sexual dysfunction due to dryness, decreased orgasm, libido and pain, as well as vaginal laxity and other anatomic changes. Several events in a woman’s life can lead to these changes, including pregnancy, birth, postpartum, perimenopause/menopause, miscarriage/infertility, medication use etc. Female sexual dysfunction (FSD) affects 25%-63% of women in their lifetime. Stress urinary incontinence affects 30%-50% of women. Genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM): 2/3 of women have signs on exam and 50% have symptoms. Photobiomodulation (PBM) is a safe effective treatment used clinically and experimentally in various conditions. Over 3000 studies in the literature show its efficacy and safety from the brain to the body; data emerging for use on vaginal tissue FDA deems as low risk. Studies on vaginal tissue include clinically significant objective data and subjective data using validated QOL questionnaires. Traditional treatments include Kegels, medications and surgery. Emerging technologies include in office procedures using radiofrequency and different lasers. While there is a huge market, no FDA approved indication. The vFit is home use device on market that uses PBM and promotes natural lubrication, increased sensation, intimate confidence and overall improvement in sexual wellness. The vFit can be used alone or in conjunction with in office treatments and is classified/designated by the FDA as a low-risk general wellness device.
