A historic 2-minute newsreel featuring master Chinese guqin (古琴, ancient 7-string zither) player Guan Pinghu (管平湖, 1897-1967), who performs an excerpt of "Liu Shui"《流水》(Flowing Waters). This brief clip is believed to represent the only extant film footage of Guan. Watching over Guan's shoulder is his student Wang Di (王迪, 1923-2005), who was herself a noted performer and scholar of guqin music. Both Guan and Wang were members of the Beijing Qin Research Association (Chinese: Beiping Qinxueshe, 北平琴学社), which was established in 1947. Filmed in Beijing, China, 1956. The film was released in December 1956. The exact date and location of filming is unknown. Guan Pinghu's 1954 recording of "Liu Shui" is notable for its inclusion (at the recommendation of the Chinese American composer Chou Wen-chung) on the Voyager Golden Record, two copies of which were sent into space by NASA on the Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 spacecrafts in 1977. 管平湖 流水 演奏视频 1956年拍摄 1956年拍摄 管平湖演奏古琴视频，《流水》。 应是管先生的唯一存世演奏影像资料。 More information: https://stephenjones.blog/2021/10/12/...
