Now this is a wash that I had NO plans whatsoever to return to, after my previous experience. But altering finding out that it is now under new ownership, I wanted to come back to see if things have improved. This is the now former Seacoast Laundromat & Car Wash, and is now called The Local Wash- Car Wash & Laundromat! Let me start by saying that there was never originally an automatic wash here beforehand. When it was still under the Seacoast name years ago, they only offered the laundromat and self service car wash bays behind the laundromat building in front. The laundromat at the time was much larger, as there was an additional laundromat right next to it, that I have no clue if it was a part of Seacoast or not. In mid-2012, the additional laundromat building was repurposed to accommodate a mini tunnel express wash, which would be operated by Seacoast. A few months later, the wash opened up and started washing cars. The tunnel featured Belanger equipment, featuring a QuadWave mitter, Gyro wraps, rocker panel brushes, rinse/wax arches, DuraShine tire shiners and AirCannon dryers. I did attempt to film this back in 2021, but it was down for maintenance, or it was closed for the installation of this all new system. I actually came back to check up on this wash to film the tunnel wash, but to my surprise, the tunnel wash was gone! Instead, there was an AUTEC system in its place. To my knowledge, this is the NEWEST AUTEC system to be installed in New England. AUTEC systems aren’t common at all, and most got replaced or the wash closed down, so seeing an all-new one is very surprising, but exciting at the same time. When I first filmed it, I was INCREDIBLY displeased with what happened. The wash did do a nice job, but it seemed like it didn’t give us the right wash. Didn’t apply the Hot Wax or Ceramic or the Graphene as well. Not only that, but the dryers shut off halfway through when we didn’t even back up. I did write a review on this place and got a response by the former owner. He said, that if you don’t choose a wash quickly enough, it’ll give you one of the cheaper washes instead, and the dryers shut off if you back up, which we didn’t. After this, I was able planning on never coming back, until a few months afterwards, I found out the site got new owners. The laundromat is still the same, and so is the wash, as it still has the AUTEC AES-425, which appears that it’s a In-Bay Express variant, as it has the drive thru Presoak arch and rinsing/wax arches. The AirCannon dryers still remain from the Belanger mini tunnel that was here previously. The wash we should’ve gotten in this video was the $18 Platinum Wash which should’ve included: *Carbonite Treatment *Ceramic Shield *Carnauba Wax *Power Wheel Blaster *Triple Foam *Underbody Spray *Presoak *Foam Bath *Spot Free Rinse *Turbo Dry (via off-board AirCannon dryers) But once again, it appears that it gave us the wrong wash, AGAIN. We tried to find someone who was working here, and when we did, we explained what happened. They said that all the chemicals are done in the wash itself, but I’m not too sure if that’s the truth or not. So we went through again, and the same thing happened. I’m not too sure if we got the top wash or not, but I’m not sure if we did or not. The Silver Wash for $12 is probably what we got which included: *Power Wheel Blaster *Triple Foam *Underbody Spray *Presoak *Foam Bath *Spot Free Rinse *Turbo Dry Wash Quality: 7/10 Experience: 2/10 Comments: while the wash did do a nice job again, the dryers weren’t that great and not receiving the wash we paid for again, (POSSIBLY, I’m not sure) is really frustrating. As stated before, we could’ve gotten the correct wash and I just didn’t know it, but since the Hot Wax sign near the dryers didn’t light up and I didn’t see anything else, I’m not sure what happened. So yeah, kinda disappointing, HOWEVER, I cannot deny that the wash did a very nice job, besides the dryers being mediocre. I’ll have to come back and see what the cheaper wash packages are like.
