The stones are in, the plants are starting to take off, and I’m mulching with chopped straw. I started replacing my rotting wood raised beds with stones in March. A stone garden has been a dream of mine for ages so this year I finally decided to harvest stones from around the farm and make this a reality. I had to buy an additional 3 palettes from a local garden center to help complete the job. The large slabs are repurposed from a garden patio here at the farm. Every single stone you see was laid myself. As for the cardboard, it’s currently keeping the weeds down in my new walkways. I have yet to decide what to use as a covering.
