Roll a ball of air-dry clay in your hand. 2. Pat it out on a piece of parchment paper on a flat surface 3. Roll out the clay from the center turning the clay as you go until it is a thin layer of clay. 4. Next, using a toothpick or the yarn needle make two holes on the top. 5. One on the upper right and one on the upper left. 6. Repeat these steps making 9 hearts for a garland that will hang on a hutch. 7. Let the clay dry for 2 to 3 days. 8. After the clay is dry simply brush an off white paint color on one side of the clay heart and then let it dry 9. Next dab a tiny bit of gold leaf Rub n Buff on a lint-free cloth. Remove excess on the parchment paper. Then with a light hand brush the gold color across the heart. The gold will pick up all the clay that is on the top. 10. Measure how long you want your garland to be and cut a piece of embroidery floss. 11. Tie one end with a loop for hanging 12. Thread the embroidery floss with the yarn needle. 13. Lay your hearts on a table in the pattern you want them to go when you hang the garland. 14. Start with the first heart and run the needle through the top of the right side and then up the back through the left side. 15. Repeat until all the hearts are strung on the embroidery thread. 16. Tie a loop into the other end and you are ready to hang your vintage minimalist Valentine's heart garland. Now here are ideas to decorate with your Valentine's day heart garland.
