Being as the interception of a shady offer brought the US into the war, a pledge for open diplomacy seemed appropriate. Point 2 - Freedom of the seas. Again, what helped drag us in. Point 3 - The removal of economic barriers and free trade... because you usually don't punch your customers in the face... usually. Point 4 - Disarmament. Leading up to the war, everyone, especially England and Germany, were strapped like they were in an 80s action movie. In order to avoid Chekov's gun, Wilson wanted weapon levels lowered across the board. Point 5 - The adjustment of colonial claims based on principles of self-determination. Well that one must've went over well in Europe. Point 6 - Russia. German troops will leave it, it can determine its own government, and we'll see how this Bolshevik thing turns out. This just in: not good. Point 7 - Belgium and the evacuation of German troops from it. Point 8 - France gets Alsace-Loraine back from Germany because France was still whining about the Franco-Prussian War fifty years later. Point 9 - Italy and the adjustment of its borders. Mainly giving it some of Austria-Hungary for switching sides mid-war... speaking of which. Point 10 - Austria-Hungary will continue to be an independent country. Point 11 - The Balkans. Just let the countries there like Serbia, Montenegro, and Romania do their thing. Point 12 - Ottoman Empire. Well, Turkish people can have their own country but non-Turkish people should too. Ah, just keep the Dardanelles open, okay? Point 13 - Poland. That's gonna be a thing again. And finally, point 14. - A League of Nations will be formed to protect the independence of all countries big and small.
