On a cold winter day, we take 3 semi SMG conversions out shooting. All are in 9x19mm Parabellum and all use the same magazine types. First we have the M31 SA Suomi Carbine, manufactured by TNW using an original Finnish military KP.31 parts kit. The Suomi was used extensively against Russia, and proved itself durable, reliable, and very accurate for an SMG. Next we have the KP44 Pistol, manufactured by SMG again using a Finnish military kit. The KP.44 was a reverse-engineered Soviet PPS42, reworked to fire Finland's standard issue pistol cartridge. It was lighter and handier than the KP.31; as well as being cheaper and faster to mass produce. While it came too late to be used in the Continuation War, the KP.44 was issued to Finnish soldiers throughout the Cold War era. See our previous video on it here: • Finnish KP-44 Semi-Auto Review And finally we have the M45 'K' Carbine, manufactured by MKGM using a Swedish military Gustav M/45D kit. Like the KP44, the M/45 was designed during WWII but didn't actually go into production until after the war was already over. Nevertheless, it had a long and famous career in the Swedish military for over half a century. Simple, durable, and easy to use; the M/45 was in many ways a highly refined Sten gun. Also, it was given the nickname "Swedish K" by US Navy SEALs who used it extensively during the Vietnam War. We have a more in-depth review of this firearm here: • Swedish K Carbine (Carl Gustav M/45) 9mm All of these guns are custom builds, and all are a lot of fun. We had best luck with Wolf (WPA) ammunition out of all of them. All can use the 36 rd stick, 50 rd coffin, and 72 rd drum magazines too.
