A review and tips on how to set up an Aorus Gamin Box 2070. Videos in the background played at 4K as you can see but recorded in 1080p. Recording in anything above lags and in 4K freezes the video even though the gameplay is the same. The reason for that is most likely the bandwidth limitation of thunderbolt 3. As far as I know my th3 port is 2 pcie lane one and thus limited to half the bandwidth rather than full 40gbs 4 lane. Another th3 tip is that if you use a cable longer than 50cm without active transfer (expensive) support it will also half the bandwidth. The cable included in the box is 50cm passive so make sure you can arrange the laptop and the box really close to each other. What is more some games are more unstable and crash more often, especially when I set the graphics to very high/ultra etc. This is especially true with RTX/DLSS on crashing every time in every game I have that supports it as well as the demos Nvidia made available for download. If anyone has any idea how to fix it or if this is a symptom of GPU having defective RT cores please let me know in the comments. PC specs: I5-7300HQ @ 2.5Ghz 4 core CPU, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/RTX 2070 (EGPU), 16GB RAM @ 2400MHz, SAMSUNG 960 EVO M.2 250GB @ 3200/1500 MBps, SAMSUNG 860 EVO 1TB. Recording with GeForce Experience @ 2160p/60fps 80Mbs or 1080p/60fps 30Mbs.
